Regular migrant in small numbers, primarily in the Great Plain. It was a common migrant in the first half of the 20th century. In the last years, birds from the Fennoscandinavian breeding population migrate through Hortobágy exclusively, in decreasing and small numbers (September–October, March–April). An increasing number of West Siberian birds can be observed on several wild geese resting places, accompanying Greater White-fronted Geese, from late October until early April.
