The recently split Taiga Bean Goose and Tundra Bean Goose were collected together as Bean Goose formerly. In Hungary A. f. fabalis and A. s. rossicus are regular autumn (September–December) and spring (February–March) migrant. Both regularly overwinter. Three decades ago, hundred thousand individuals migrated through, mainly in the Western parts of the country. The number of birds dropped to thousands – ten thousand by now. Tundra Bean Goose is much more abundant than Taiga Bean Goose.
