Common breeder throughout the country. Breeds pri- marily on inhabited and agricultural areas. Typical hab- itats are gardens, fruit plantations, avenues, open areas with trees. Avoids closed forests. The breeding popula- tion was moderately increasing between 1999 and 2018 (1.9 ± 1.0%, p<0.05). Wintering population was stable (?0.9 ± 2.7%), showing large fluctuations. Partial migrant. The Hungarian breeding population migrates off, and northern migrants overwinter in the country.
